necessary to write college-level papers.
Learning Objectives
The objectives of this course are to help the student:
- Identify certain mechanical weak spots
- Better organize and focus ideas
- Sharpen potentially fine prose and perhaps discover a winning writing style
- Understand that writing is a process, and the heart of this process is revision.
This course is divided into 5 parts, an overview and 4 assignments, and is taught as a series of writing exercises. The course overview will be done on campus during the EXD Program orientation. The student will complete assignments I - IV at home. Students should mail assignments I-IV in order, 1 at a time, being sure to include a self-addressed stamped envelope with sufficient return postage. The contract director will mark and grade each exercise, making comments as necessary.
